Sharon Marie Jones passed away unexpectedly and much too early on December 25, 2022 at the age of 73 years. Sharon was predeceased by her son, Brent; parents, Norbert & Tillie Selinger; in laws, Harold & Mabel Jones and Harold Tiefenbach. She will be lovingly remembered by husband of 55 years, Jack; children, Brad (Daneen) and Blair; 3 grandchildren: Jordan (her great grandson Alfred), Dylan (Courtney & their baby due in early June) and Alyssa (Mac). Sharon was the oldest child in her family and leaves behind her 10 siblings: Ken (Margaret) Selinger, Terry (Brian) Webster, David (Caroline) Selinger, Debbie (Ken) Zahariuk, Allan (Audrey) Selinger, Bob (Bethney) Selinger, Andrew (Joy) Selinger, Rhonda (Jim) Boychuk, Leonard (Anita) Selinger, Darcy (Jeannette) Selinger; Jack's sisters, Muriel Foord & Sharon Olson as well as many dear cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sharon was born on March 21, 1949 in Regina, SK to Norbert & Tillie Selinger. Sharon attended the New Ontario one room school from Grade 1-9, which was only a mile from their farm. She graduated from Greenall High School in Balgonie, SK. On September 16, 1967, Sharon married Jack Jones. They started their family in Regina and then moved to Weyburn where Sharon was a stay at home mother. She had a few part time jobs before becoming a letter carrier for Canada Post, which she retired from after 24 years of service. Sharon will be forever missed, but never forgotten. Donations in memory of Sharon may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Weyburn Salvation Army, Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation or the Weyburn Humane Society. Sharon was a very generous person. Always giving of her time, financial assistance and most importantly her love to the people and organizations she cared the most about!
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from Grace United Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Reverend M. Barnabas and Chaplain Cliff Geiger officiating. A Private Family Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, Saskatchewan. A Social will take place following the Interment at the Weyburn Leisure Centre ~ Sun Room.
In lieu of flowers, anyone so wishing may consider a donation in Sharon's memory to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Salvation Army, Weyburn District Hospital Foundation, or The Weyburn Humane Society.
