Myrna Joy Krantz

On Sunday, May 29, 2011, Myrna Krantz (Bendickson) was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Myrna was born on the farm at Maxim to Joe and Vivian Olson. She was the oldest of 8 children and attended Greendale school until grade 10.

On Nov. 11, 1953, Myrna married Orville Bendickson. They moved to a farm South of Gladmar where they farmed until 1989. During this time they were blessed with 4 daughters Laurie, Joanne, Tracy & Tana. As there were no sons to help with the farming Myrna was often commissioned into driving farm machinery or helping with the cattle. In her spare time she operated a hair salon out of the house.

Myrna loved to sing and often sang in duets or trios in church as well as a community group. Music remained a huge part of her life until the end. Myrna was widowed in 1989 and moved to Weyburn.

In 1994 Myrna married Gilbert Krantz and gained 2 more daughters, Debbie and Lynn. They moved to Saskatoon where they lived for approximately 15 years. Myrna and Gilbert enjoyed many trips in their R.V. to visit their family. Myrna was again widowed in 2009.

Approximately 10 years ago Mom discovered quilting. She loved it and kept an accurate account (picture) of each quilt she made and who it was gifted or sold to. Her album contains photos of at least 60 different pieces that she created. She also loved knitting, crocheting and needle work. Myrna lived for the last year at Good Shepherd personal care home in Prince Albert.

She was predeceased by Orville Bendickson, Gilbert Krantz, Joe and Vivian Olson, grandson Brenton Fehr and step-daughter Lynn Krantz. She is survived by Laurie (Lowell) Fehr, Joanne Hendricks, Tracy (Lorne) Barker and Tana (Richard) Hill, Deb Mills. Grandchildren Chris (Rebecca) Hendricks, Dustin (Jen) Fehr, Shari Barker, Mike (Chantel) Fehr, Kim Barker, Daniel, Aaron and Kristi Hill, Jessica (John) Hancock, Lauren (Chris) Flanagan and Scott Mills. Great grandchildren Jesse, Taelor, Brady, Parker, Riley, Logan and Colby Fehr, Cara and Andrew Hendricks, Colton and Kaden Flanagan. Brothers and sisters Dale (Joanne) Olson, Delores Jorde, Bonnie (Ernie) Pokletar, Ken (Louise) Olson, Judy (Zyg) Siwy, Lynda (Rodney) Johnson and Ivan (Marlene) Olson. Brother-in-law Sam (Lillian) Bendickson, sister -in-law Clara Fladeland.

A Memorial Service was held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Beaubier Pentecostal Church, Beaubier, Saskatchewan with Reverend Mark Emde officiating. Interment was held on Friday, June 3, 2011 @ 10:00 A.M. at the Dovre Cemetery in Lake Alma, Saskatchewan. Pallbearers were Lowell Fehr, Lorne Barker, Dustin Fehr, Mike Fehr, Ivan Olson, Ken Fettes. Visitation was held Thursday, June 2, 2011 @ 7:00 ~ 9:00 P.M. from Fletcher Funeral Chapels, Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Donations in memory of Myrna may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to Osteoporosis Canada.
