Alex was predeceased by his parents, Alex Sr. & Julia Szilagyi; wife, Elsie Szilagyi (Renn); brother, James Silagy; sister, Irene Campbell; son in law, Edwin Slater; long-time companion, Pat Anderson.

Alex is survived by his daughter, Zandra Slater of Stoughton, SK and her children: Alysson Slater and her daughter, Ella-Renn Slater, Tyson Slater (Shantelle) and his son, Jayden Coderre-Slater; son, Randy (Sharon) Szilagyi of Weyburn, SK and children: Ryan (Lisa) Szilagyi and son’s, Ryker & Caden, Erin Szilagyi; sister, Lily Hoffman; Pat’s family, Carrie (Brian) Lanktree & family, Stacy (Susan) Anderson & family; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in laws, other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Pastor Jody Pfeifer officiating. Lunch followed at the Weyburn Wheatland Senior Centre. Interment in Handsworth Cemetery, Handsworth, Saskatchewan
