Vincenzo Jimmy Bazzano

Vincenzo “Jimmy” Bazzano, 88, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Rosalie (LaRosa) Bazzano, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015. He was born July 27, 1927 in Hartford, the son of the late Salvatore and Mary (Granato) Bazzano. Jimmy was a graduate of Bulkeley High School class of 1945. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 45th Infantry Division. He was co-owner and operator of the S. Bazzano and Sons Grocery Store in Hartford. Including Rosalie, his wife of 65 years, Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Diane Bazzano of Wethersfield; a brother, Salvatore Bazzano and his wife Virginia of Bradenton, FL; five nieces, Donna and Linda LaRosa of Boston, MA and their mother Nina LaRosa Seremet of Newington, Linda Cultrera and her husband James of Newington, Susan Paquette and her husband Paul of Wallingford and Marianne Flynn of Atwater, CA; three nephews, Stephen Bazzano and his wife Claire of Tolland, Raymond Bazzano of Boston, MA and Gary Bazzano and his wife Susan of South Windsor; and two cousins, Lucy Murkette of Westbrook and Frances Lund of South Windsor. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his grandmother, Maria Granato; a brother, Carmelo Bazzano and his wife Tina; three aunts, Jenny Bazzano and her husband Sebastian, Josephine Motta and her husband Paul and Frances Granato; three cousins, Paula Pintaldi, Santo Motta and Gaetano Bazzano; a brother-in-law, Conrad LaRosa; and Steve Flynn. Jimmy’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Gina and Viola from Masonicare and the doctors and nurses at the Hartford Hospital 10th floor cardiology unit.

Funeral services will be Monday (January 4) at 10 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial with military honors will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
