Thomas E. Ryan

Thomas E. Ryan, 72, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Mary Elaine (Covey) Ryan for 43 years, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Born in Torrington on March 2, 1943, he was the son of the late John ""Jack"" Ryan and Margaret (Beary) Ryan. Tom was a graduate of Torrington High School, Marianapolis Preparatory School and CCSC. He was a proud Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army. Tom worked as an accountant for the State of CT Labor Department, retiring in 1997. He was a lifelong member of the VFW and also a member of the New Britain Elks Club, the DAV and the Connecticut Society of Government Accountants. In addition to his devoted wife Mary, Tom is survived by his brothers-in-law, Al Vannini and James Covey and his wife Betty; sister-in-law, Loretta Ramsay; nine nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was blessed to have many dear friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Vannini and his brother, John Ryan. The funeral is Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Everyone is invited to go directly to church. Burial will be in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral; Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield.
