Thomas Michael Finley, 80, beloved husband of Gail Finley since 1973, of Wethersfield, passed away on September 29, 2024 after a long fight with cancer. Tom was born in Hartford to the late Edward Finley and Helen (Kimalauskas) Finley. He previously resided in Rocky Hill for 45 years before moving to Wethersfield. He was a veteran, proudly serving in the U.S. Army with the Military Police. He graduated from University of Hartford. Tom had a long career with Wetherell Corporation in various roles; a Mechanical/Electrical contractor, Project Manager, Estimator and the Executive Vice President of the mechanical division. He then went on his own, working with Olsen Construction and RK Insulation until he retired in 2018. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He lived a quiet life, but in his younger years he enjoyed skiing, golf, tennis and weekend casino trips. All he ever wanted was to provide for his family so they can live a better life. He was a very selfless and generous man.
In addition to his wife Gail, he is survived by his daughter, Darcie Finley of Wethersfield; son-in-law, Jason Johnson of East Hartford; son, T.J. Finley and wife Melina Finley of Berlin and son, John Rossano of Berlin. He will also be forever missed by his beloved grandchildren, Jax Johnson and Sienna Finley; his sister-in-law, Judy Finley and various nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Charles Finley and nephew, Paul “Bear” Finley. Tom’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Giove and the oncology team at Starling Physicians and Hartford Hospital for all of their wonderful care and compassion. He was a wonderful husband and father, and he will be missed.
