Paul V. Lombardo, 49, of Wethersfield, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at Hartford Hospital on Friday (December 9, 2011). Born in Hartford on January 22, 1962, Paul Lived in Wethersfield all his life. Paul was the beloved husband of Paula Lombardo and father of Robert Lombardo and the late Kathleen (Kaytie) Lombardo. He was a self-taught computer programmer and worked in the Information Technology department at CIGNA. Paul was a dedicated member of the Wethersfield Volunteer Ambulance Association as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, currently holding the position of Assistant Chief of Operations. Paul was a faithful Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, holding many positions of responsibility within the local council. In addition to his wife and son, left to mourn the loss of Paul are his two brothers, Peter Lombardo and his wife Jennifer of Putnam, CT and Philip Lombardo and his wife Kimberly of Wethersfield; his nieces and nephews, Carlo Lombardo and Julia Lombardo as well as Christopher and Casey Dundon, all of Putnam and Barbara, Peter, Ian and Elizabeth Lombardo, all of Wethersfield, and his mother-in-law, Eleanor. Paul will be missed by his many friends in the Native American, Bagpipe, Fife and Drum, Revolutionary War Re-enactment, Knights of Columbus, Wethersfield Democratic politics and Youth Sports and Activities communities.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (December 17) at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. (Everyone is asked to assemble at the church). Interment will immediately follow at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. There are no calling hours. After the interment, the celebration of Paul's life will continue at the Wethersfield Community Center, 30 Greenfield Street, Wethersfield.
