

Michelina B. “Mickey” (Paesano) LaPenta, 84, of Newington, formerly of Hartford, wife of the late Anthony J. LaPenta, Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born July 18, 1933 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Silvio and Antoinette (Romano) Paesano. She was a graduate of Bulkeley High School. She formerly owned and operated with her husband, the Walk-In Restaurant, on the corner of Broad Street and New Britain Avenue, Hartford and later the Casa Loma Restaurant in Kensington. She later was employed by CIGNA, retiring many years ago. Mickey enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods and playing cards with her husband, most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by her children, daughters, Michele A. LaPenta-Whelahan and Thomas, daughter, Sylvia A. Lallier and husband, Edward and son, Anthony A. LaPenta and wife, Jennifer all of Newington, a son, Andrew A. LaPenta and wife, Karla of Glendale, Arizona, and daughter, Diane M. LaPenta of Newington, 5 grandchildren, Anthony P. LaPenta, Shannon M. Whelahan, Edward A. Lallier, Daniel A. Lallier, Joseph A. Lallier and Sophia I. LaPenta who will be joining the family in June. Her great grandchildren, Kylie, Kaeleigh, Emma, Nathan, Aubrey, Olivia and Daniel and his wife Raechel. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Leonard LaPenta and Bridget, Joseph LaPenta, Rosemarie and fiancé, Russell as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Silvio Paesano and sister-in-law, Barbara. Mickey’s family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Lake for their kindness and compassion. Funeral service will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the D’Esopo, Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford.
