Mark W. Markow, 57, of East Hartford, cherished husband of Stephanie (Small) Markow was taken away suddenly from all those who loved him Saturday, June 26, 2021. Mark was born September 12, 1963 in New Britain and was the son of Jadwiga (Miklasziewski) and the late Walter Markow. Mark grew up in Plainville and graduated from Plainville High School. After high school, Mark worked alongside his Dad in his father’s machine shop during the day. At night, along with his friends, he began building racecars for himself and others. Then following his dream; he opened his own shop, Markow Racecars, in the early 80’s. During his career, he created many amazing racecars. Through his vision, meticulous welding skills and knowledge of every aspect of how to create the perfect vehicle, Mark had an incredible reputation in his field. Many clients sought out his expertise. Along with racing with all of his amazing ASRA friends, he enjoyed and was a successful quad racer and side-by-side racer. Mark and Stephanie, along with family and friends, enjoyed riding their side by sides on endless miles of trails in the New Hampshire mountains.
He was a wonderful husband and daddy to his fur babies Penny and Isla Rose, as well as a good friend to all who knew him.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mark will be sadly missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Barbara Markow, of AL; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Brian Godwin, of Manchester and Christine Small and Aaron Willard, of Glastonbury. He also leaves many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his many friends, especially his racing family.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. A Remembrance Service will be held 4 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
