Marie (Biron) Mackas, 71, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of George A. Mackas, passed away Friday, (Oct. 6, 2006) surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 11, 1935 in Louisville, KY the daughter of the late Ernest and Eva (Tessier) Biron. Marie had a winning smile, a tremendous sense of humor and a most generous heart. She attended high school at Mount Saint Joseph Academy and college at Saint Joseph College in West Hartford. Marie was a longtime parishioner of Corpus Christi Church, a member of the Bud and Blossom Garden Club, and was a founding member of the Wethersfield Junior Women's Club. She enjoyed summer vacations on Lake Winnipesaukee, and playing cards with her bridge club. However, Marie's greatest joy was her family. Including George, her husband of 48 years, Marie is survived by a son, Daniel G. Mackas of Wethersfield; two daughters, Karen M. Duggan and her husband William of Glastonbury and Suzanne M. Kouatly and her husband Omar of Glastonbury; a brother, Joseph Biron of Bristol; eight grandchildren, Michael, Amy Marie, Matthew, Mark, and William III Duggan and Marco, Leo, and Bruno Kouatly. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by a daughter Deborah Marie Mackas and a brother George Biron. Funeral services will leave Wednesday, October 11th at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield.
