Lucia (Uccello) Zocco, 83 of Rocky Hill, beloved wife of Salvatore Zocco passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025 with her family by her side. Lucia was born on May 10, 1941, in Canicattini Bagni, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Giuseppa (Ficara) Uccello.
Lucia and Salvatore courted for five years and were married in 1966, they enjoyed a wonderful life together, forever devoted to each other. In 1970 they decided to leave their beautiful Sicily and moved their family to the U.S. making their home in Rocky Hill. Lucia was a talented seamstress, she and Salvatore transformed their garage into a work area where she was able to work from home, owning Lucy’s Alterations for over 15 years. Lucia took exceptional pride in her work, building relationships with her customers, many who became friends. Lucia enjoyed being a member of the Daughters of Canicattini Bagni, she and her husband loved attending their social events. Most of all, Lucia was devoted to her family, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she cherished being with them, especially cooking her delicious meals for them all to enjoy.
Lucia will be forever missed by her husband Salvatore, as well as her sons; Paul Zocco and his wife Annamaria of Wethersfield and Enzo Zocco and his wife Jeanette of Cromwell and her cherished grandchildren Paul Michael Zocco, Mark Zocco, Michael Zocco and Danny Zocco along with her many family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Lucia was predeceased by her sister, Concettina Miano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 10th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephine Bakhita Barish (St. James), 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 9th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
