John F. Peluso, Sr., 74, of Hartford, beloved husband of Patricia (Casasanta) Peluso for over 50 years, died suddenly, Wednesday (June 20, 2012) at Hartford Hospital. He was born Aug. 9, 1937 in Hartford and was the son of the late Carmine and Josephine (Perrone) Peluso. He was a graduate of Weaver High School, Class of 1955 and later served in the U.S. Army Reserve for five and a half years. He was employed as a mechanic at the former John F. Dunne Auto Repair in Hartford for 13 years. John was employed by the City of Hartford for 25 dedicated years, retiring in 1992. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, decorating for the holidays, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons whom he was very proud of, Dr. John F. Peluso, Jr. and wife Diane of Longmeadow, MA and Paul S. Peluso, PhD and companion, Lucy of Palo Alto, CA; grandchildren, Noelle, Jack and Ryan; brother, Anthony Peluso and wife Nancy of West Hartford; sister, Josephine Witkowsky of Hartford; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard and Frances Casasanta of Newington, Fred Casasanta of Glastonbury, Anthony Campanelli of Windsor Locks and Madeline and William Lovett of West Hartford. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He was predeceased by his sisters, Michelina DeGray, Rose Campanelli and Christine Deming; and his brother, Michael Peluso.
A prayer service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. The burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
