John J. Corona, 89, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband of the late Anna (Imundo) Corona, passed away peacefully on Monday (November 8, 2010), surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hartford, son of Pasquale and Victoria (Carnevale) Corona, and lived in the area all of his life. Together with his brothers he started Corona's Auto Parts in Hartford in 1937 where he worked for 73 years. He married Anna Imundo in 1942, then entered the U.S. Army in 1943, serving in England during World War II. He leaves behind his beloved daughter JoAnn (Corona) Nashold of Rocky Hill; his former son-in-law Frederick Nashold of Utica, NY; two cherished grandsons; Douglas Nashold and his wife Kristina and great-grand children Griffin and Marlo of Auburn, MA, and Daniel Nashold and his wife Kimberlee of Bristol, RI. John also leaves behind sisters Rose Leone of Glastonbury; Cecelia Mary Falotico of Wethersfield; brothers Anthony of Rocky Hill and Dominic of Coventry; and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his wife Anna, brothers , Vincent ""Jim,"" Michael and Nickolas; and sisters Teresa Manzolillo and Christiana Anna Eckert. Funeral Services will be Friday (November 12, 2010), at 11 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial with full military honors will immediately follow at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
