Henry ""Hank"" Gutkoski, of Rocky Hill, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 19, 2018 with his loving wife Patricia (Capasso) Gutkoski by his side. He was born in Worchester, Massachusettes and was the son of the late Leon Gutkoski and Hedwiges ""Agnes"" (Koladowska) Gutkoski. Henry was a Navy veteran who served as a Seaman 1st class Gunner's Mate during WWII. He served on the USS Roamer (AF19) in the Marshall Islands. Henry lived and worked most of his life in Connecticut. He worked at Pratt and Whitney Small Tool Division in West Hartford retiring after 22 years of dedicated service. After retirement, Henry worked part-time for local companies before permanently retiring. Henry loved the outdoors, his yard was his pride and joy. He and his best friend and neighbor Pat would ""argue"" over who had the best lawn. In addition to his wife of 38 years he is also survived by his 3 step children; Edward McTigue and his wife Elizabeth of East Hampton and Matthew McTigue of Rocky Hill and Patricia McTigue Tarvano of Wethersfield. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, including Paul and Joyce Pepka of Massachusettes, William and Barbara Masselli of South Carolina and John and Denise Monopoli of Massachusettes. Henry was predeceased by his siblings; Theodore Gutkowski, Helen Amato, Cecilia Nugent, Regina Pepka, Theresa Joyce and Alice Lemay, all from Massachusettes. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the D'Esopo funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. The procession will leave the funeral chapel at 10:15 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Josephine Bahkita Parish (St. Elizabeth Seton Church), 280 Brook Street, Rocky Hill. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
