Frank Lombardo, 74, of Old Lyme, formerly of Hartford, beloved husband of Jacqueline Miano, died suddenly, Tuesday, (June 1, 2010) at Hartford Hospital with his loving family by his bedside. He was born December 30, 1935 in Hartford and was the son of the late Paul and Josephine (Gallo) Lombardo. Frank was a mason and had worked for many years in the greater Hartford area, retiring several years ago. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Niantic Sportsman Club. Most of all Frank loved being with his family, he will be dearly missed. Besides Jackie, he is survived by a daughter, Patty Ann Lombardo; a son, Frank Lombardo, who he shared a very special bond with; and a daughter, Lona Barone and husband, Steve all of Wethersfield; grandchildren, Edward Frank Lombardo and Nicole Mary Lombardo and Daniella Marie Barone and Frank Nicholas Barone; and a great grandson, Dominic Anthony Lombardo. He is also survived by his devoted brothers, Joseph M. Lombardo and Richard P. Lombardo as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by a stepson, who was like a son to him, Nicholas John Paul Miano, a sister, Sara Mascolo and a devoted sister-in-law, Josephine Lombardo. Frank will never be forgotten by his pet Doberman, ""Skipper"" Funeral service will be Saturday at 10:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. The burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
