Frances Rockwell Vining

Frances Rockwell Vining, 100, a long-term resident of Avery Heights, passed away on Wednesday (April 22, 2009). Born in New Britain, Connecticut and formerly of Springfield and Wilbraham, MA, she was predeceased by her husband Norman A. Vining. Frances also survived two brothers, Albert and Edward Rockwell; and her first daughter, Janet Irene. She is survived by her loving family: son Jon (Paula) Vining; daughter Cynthia (Roy) Macdonald; and five grandchildren: William, Christine and David Vining and Rob and James Macdonald; and five great grandchildren. Frances and Norman were long-term active members of Hope Congregational Church in Springfield and later, Wilbraham United Church. Frances worked in the Springfield Library system until her retirement. She treasured her family who will remember her as loving and full of grace. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private.
