Filomena “Dolly” (D’Agata) Rotundo, 84, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife of the late Louis A. Rotundo, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2018 surrounded by her beloved family. Dolly was born on August 29, 1933 in Hartford, daughter of the late Angelo and Filomena (Mancini) D’Agata. She grew up in Hartford and was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1951. She was a proud employee of the Travelers Corporation for 25 years, prior to her retirement. Dolly was a member of the Sons of Italy, Ella Grasso Lodge and a member of the Rocky Hill Senior Center. She enjoyed baking, especially Italian cookies for her family and friends. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, who meant everything to her. Dolly will be sadly missed by her sons, Joe Rotundo and his wife Deborah of Glastonbury and Nick Rotundo of South Acworth, NH, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister Angela Delgreco and her brothers Jim D’Agata, Nick D’Agata and Joe D’Agata.
Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, June 20, at 9 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish (St. James Church), 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Dolly’s family would like to thank Maria Ortiz for her care, compassion and friendship over the years.
