Felix was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico on January 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Eusebio Marrero Hernandez and Catalina Perez Marrero. Felix was an avid Domino player and champion with many trophies he proudly displayed. In his free time Felix loved to go to the Casino with his family and friends, he also enjoyed helping neighbors, friends, and family. Felix was a man you could depend on, whether it was to share a kind word, offer guidance or help you move, he was always ready to drop anything he was doing for you. Felix fought a long, hard battle with tremendous strength, courage, and dignity until the very end. Felix was our Superman, a true man of strength and he will be greatly missed as he was loved.
Besides his wife of 53 years, Felix is survived by his son, Felix J. Marrero, Jr., three daughters, Elizabeth Marrero and her wife Eva of Newington, Carmen Marrero of Meriden and Maria Marrero of East Hartford, three grandchildren, Victoria Ruiz-Serrata and her husband Alex Serrata, Felix J. Marrero III and Kaleb T. Platt as well as a brother, Domingo and two sisters, Emilia and Maria. He was predeceased by eight siblings, Victoria, Cristobal, Cruz, Lito, Balta, Juan, Epifania and Jenaro.
Funeral services will leave at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6th from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Maria Reina de la Paz Parish (St. Lawrence O’Toole Church) 494 New Britain Avenue, Hartford. Burial will follow at Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
