Esther Farfan

Esther Farfan, 85, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late Teodocio Farfan passed away peacefully on December 13, 2021, at home surrounded by her family. Esther was born on September 5, 1936, in Peru, she was the daughter of the late Pedro Rodriguez and Flora Casas.

Esther immigrated to the United States in 1999, where she resided until the last day of her life.

She and her husband married in 1959 forming a united and happy couple, lavishing each other a great and ineffable love.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in education in her native country, serving as an elementary teacher, assistant principal, and principal in the public-school systems for 25 years.

She was baptized 43 years ago in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Peru, giving her life fully to the Lord and actively participating in missionary work, bringing the Word of God to many people, both in her homeland and in the Hartford Spanish Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Esther enjoyed being with her family, a wonderful wife, mother, and friend she will be missed by her children, David Farfan Rodriguez, Pilar Farfan Rodriguez, Gerssy Farfan Rodriguez, and Cirilo Mandujano, Daniel Farfan Rodriguez, and Maritza Mendoza, Evelyn Purdy, and her husband Sean. She also leaves her sister Noemi Rodriguez.

In addition to her husband and parents, Esther passes away after her son, Dennys Farfan, and brothers and siters: Isaias Rodriguez, Sofia Bustamante, Lidia Rodriguez, and Martin Rodriguez.

She was a fighter, strong, brave, humble, and spiritual woman, for which her memory will always remain in the memories of her loved ones until the glorious day of the first resurrection.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 17th from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service being held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Masks are required.

Memorial donations in Esther’s name may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.

Esther Farfán nació en Junín, Perú un 5 de Setiembre de 1936 del matrimonio conformado por Pedro Rodríguez y Flora Casas. Fue la quinta de seis hermanos: Isaias, Sofía, Lidia, Martín, y Noemí. Contrajo matrimonio con Teodocio Farfán en Enero de 1959, formando una pareja estable, unida y feliz, prodigándose mutuamente un gran e inefable amor. Tuvieron seis hijos: David, Pilar, Dennys, Gerssy, Daniel y Evelyn; además de 17 nietos y 9 bisnietos. A todos ellos inculcó el amor a Dios y la esperanza del pronto regreso de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

Estudió la Carrera de Educación en su país natal, desempeñándose como maestra del nivel primario, Subdirectora y Directora de una Institución Educativa; pasando al retiro luego de 25 años de servicio. Su labor fue excepcional pues siempre tuvo el reconocimiento de quienes fueron sus colegas, estudiantes y padres de familia.

Fue bautizada, hace 43 años en la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día en Perú, entregando su vida plenamente al Señor y participando activamente en la acción misionera, llevando la Palabra de Dios a muchas personas, tanto en su patria como en la Iglesia Adventista Hispana de Hartford, Connecticut.

Gustaba del canto, lo cual inculcó a sus hijos; siendo su cantos preferidos: “Jesús es mi vida” y “Yo veo a Dios” ; y su Salmo favorito el 121

Fue una mujer luchadora, fuerte, valiente, humilde y espiritual, por lo cual su recuerdo siempre se mantendrá en las memorias de sus seres queridos hasta el glorioso día de la primera resurreción.

Descansa en el Señor desde el 13 de Diciembre del presente año.
