Enrico Rizzo, 77, a resident of Wethersfield since 1966, son of the late Enrico and Nunzia (DeNapoli) Rizzo, died peacefully, Tuesday (January 23, 2013) at Hartford Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born February 26, 1935 in Chiusano San Domenico, province of Avellino, Italy and came to America in 1966. He worked for the former Colt’s Firearms Manufacturing Company since 1967, retiring several years ago. Enrico loved to make homemade wine and enjoyed gardening. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his brother, Raffaele “Ralph” Rizzo of Wethersfield, a sister, Amelia (Rizzo) Pagliuca of Hartford, a brother, Generoso “Joe” Rizzo and wife, Sandra of Wethersfield and a brother, Carmine Rizzo and wife, Angela of Hartford, nieces and nephews, Nancy (Rizzo) Lamore and husband, Michael, Vincenzo Pagliuca and wife, Adriana and Rick Rizzo and wife, Tina, grandnephews and a grandniece, Vincenzo, Elisia and Gabriel Pagliuca and Carmine Rizzo as well as cousins in Massachusetts and Italy. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Anna Rizzo and brother-in-law, Ferdinando Pagliuca.
Funeral service will be Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. The burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
