Ella (Fasi) Terry of Wethersfield passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the age of 96. Ella was born in Hartford to Italian immigrants Josephine and Carmelo Fasi, both from Sicily. She was the last survivor among her siblings Salvatore, Charles, Connie (Pappaceno), Frank, and Paul Fasi. Ella was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, class of 1940. She was an accomplished athlete, earning Sweaters in basketball and baseball. She was a proud member of the National Honor Society, and editor of the yearbook. Ella married John William Terry in July, 1943; he predeceased her in January 2016. Married for 72 years, they were the parents of five loving children: Joan Drucker of Becket, MA and Marana, AZ (Arnold), Elizabeth Franklin of Berlin (Bruce), William Terry of Jackson, NH (Linda), Patricia Ouellette of Wethersfield (Mark), and Elaina Greiner of Stafford, VA (Edward). She was the proud grandmother of eight, and amazed that she was also blessed with eight great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was a proud retiree of the U.S. Postal Service, and lifetime member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, holding several positions. She was also a dedicated member of the Young Italian-American Association. Ella loved to read, sew, knit, and was an avid sports enthusiast. She enjoyed the beach and her long walks along the shore. She loved all animals and they loved her in return. She was generous, kind, and a friend to all. Her family was always her first priority and making us feel loved was her gift. She will be remembered by all as an amazing woman who sets an example for us to follow.
Funeral services and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
