Eamon Patrick Cronin Jr., 56, well known vocalist and musician, sadly was taken from us on Friday, October 13, 2023. Eamon was born on February 20, 1967 in Brooklyn, New York, youngest child of Alice (Henry) Cronin and the late Eamon P. Cronin, Sr. Eamon was a Wethersfield High School graduate (class of 1985), and he attended the Hartford Conservatory.
Eamon’s parents knew from the first drum kit they bought him that music was going to be his passion. Over the years, he mastered several instruments. He inherited his affinity for music from his father whom he credited as his inspiration in not only music but every aspect of his life. Eamon was a lead vocalist and drummer playing in various bands including The Midnight Sun, which showcased his original music. He was most well known for his work with Riders on The Storm (a Doors tribute band), where Eamon embodied the late Jim Morrison with soul, precision, and true showmanship. Eamon enjoyed not only meeting but performing with musical legends whom he looked up to. His career also allowed him the opportunity to travel to many cities in the U.S. and Europe.
His favorite place to visit was Ireland, he truly connected with the country where his father was born and was a proud dual citizen. Eamon loved to think of Ireland as home, a land where music could be heard on every corner. A native New Yorker, Eamon also took pride in his other home there, returning to the city for much of his adult life. He was profoundly affected by 9/11 and the loss of his cousin and friend James P. O’Brien Jr.
All who knew him enjoyed his unique sense of humor, his tenderness, and his many famous stories told in his gravely radio voice. He was the best and sweetest friend you could wish for. Over the years, he was honored to officiate weddings for several of his friends as an ordained minister.
He will be especially missed by his mother Alice, sister Lisa and her children Frank, Nicole, Dana and Jade, sister Pat and her children, Alannah, Fiona and Dylan, along with his maternal grandmother, Anne Henry. In addition, he leaves behind his Max Creek and Harley Rendezvous families as well as countless other friends and fans who are shocked and saddened by his passing. He is predeceased by his father Eamon P. Cronin Sr.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Please share a memory of Eamon by visiting, desopofuneralchapel.com.
