Dominick Anthony DeBonee Jr. 81, of Manchester, beloved husband of Doris (Fusco) DeBonee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Dominick was born on September 9, 1941 in Hartford to the late Dominick DeBonee Sr. and the late Mickelina (Urso) DeBonee. Upon the death of his birth mother, he was raised by his late mother Rhoda J. DeBonee. Dominick proudly served in the United States Army. He graduated from The Hartford Institute of Accounting and was employed by Hartford National Bank for over 25 years. Upon his retirement as VP of the Trust Division, he became self-employed, building a highly successful accounting practice. Dominick was an avid Red Sox fan and a lover of many sports and teams, his favorites included the 49ers, Texas and Alabama football. He loved bowling and enjoyed many years participating in men’s leagues. He proudly served on the St. Bartholomew Finance Counsel and was a board member for the MDA Association. He was also involved with numerous charitable organizations. Family was everything to Dominick. He will be forever missed by his two daughters; Donna Battalino and her husband Rick of Old Lyme, Deborah Mazzaro and her husband Vinny of South Windsor, his four grandchildren; Catey Battalino, Michael Battalino, Julia Mazzaro, and Sarah Mazzaro, along with his very special niece and goddaughter, Tracey Garrison. In addition, Dominick is survived by his sister Theresa Garrison and her husband Jeff of Rocky Hill and his brother Anthony DeBonee and his wife Pam of West Hartford. He also leaves his brother in-law John Fusco and wife Louise, Sister in-law Lee Fusco and many cherished nieces and nephews. Dominick was sadly predeceased by his precious daughter Kristin Marie in 2001.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 27th at 11:00 am at St. Bartholomew Church (St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish), 736 Middle Turnpike E, Manchester. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Family and friends may call on Sunday, February 26th from 2 to 4 pm at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield.
