

Concetta “Connie” (Gigliuto) Fiore Scalzo, 86, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, February 1, 2016. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lucia Gigliuto and grew up on Front Street. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Addressograph-Multigraph, and later Data Mail. Connie resided in Hartford and Wethersfield, spending her summers in Cornfield Point, Old Saybrook and winters in Pompano Beach, FL. She enjoyed traveling and had a green thumb. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Connie will be dearly missed by her two sons and their spouses, Robert and Peg Coffey Fiore of Newington and Edward and Anita Fiore of Old Saybrook; adored grandchildren, Robert E. Fiore, Heather F. Behrendt and husband Jeff, Edward R. Fiore and Stacey Serrano, Paul C. Fiore and wife Ashley and her cherished great-grandchildren, Andrew and Alyssa Behrendt, Kara Lynn Fiore, as well as one great-grandson on the way. She also leaves behind three loving sisters, Mary DiPietro, Josie Cassarino and Zena Scotella, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Fiore, Sr.; second husband, Anthony Scalzo and her brother, Dominic Gigliuto. Funeral services will leave Thursday (February 4) at 9 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church St., Hartford. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
