Carol Hall

Carol (Rancourt) Hall, 81, beloved wife of James Hall, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at her home, in the company of her loving family. She was born in Meriden, CT and was daughter to the late Arthur and Carmel (Vumbaco) Rancourt.

Carol lived a full and eventful life. She was a very active member of Incarnation Church. She really loved Wethersfield and enjoyed many town clubs and committees. Involvement included membership of the Solomon Welles Committee, the Wethersfield Junior Women’s Club, Dollars for Scholars, Wethersfield Historic Society and the Wethersfield Garden Club. Other activities included a knitting group, volunteer work at The Wadsworth Atheneum, and various doll clubs. Dolls were her favorite hobby by far. The porcelain dolls and their clothes she made were enjoyed by many and earned many awards. Carol retired from a long career with Aetna Life and Casualty after many years of service.

She will be remembered for her cool cars like her Corvair Monza, silver ‘69 GTO and Buick Grand National. She wasn’t afraid to drive them fast either. Most of all, she will be remembered for her warm smile, pleasant presence and undeniable beauty.

In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by her son, Christopher Hall and wife Katalin, surrogate daughter Tonja Russo, sister Rosalie Zigmund, nephews Lawrence Zigmund and Andrew Zigmund and wife Claudine, nieces Christine Brown and husband Larry and Catherine Ryan and husband Sean. She is also survived by seven great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the Church of the Incarnation (Christ the King Parish), 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield.
