Anthony “Tony” Joseph Guiliano, Sr., 93, of Wethersfield, CT passed away at Hartford Hospital on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, with his beloved wife, Frances A. (Serra) Guiliano by his side. Born in Hartford on December 11, 1929, he was the son of the late Sabatino and Jennie (Jovino) Guiliano. He was graduate of Bulkeley High School, attending high school as “Tony Julian”. Tony then went on to serve honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning from war, he started his lifetime career at Sears and Roebuck, Newington, CT in the repair division, retiring as service manager in 1995.
Tony was a kind, caring person, who would be seen walking daily in his Wethersfield neighborhood and doing yard work. Tony, loved the Red Sox and Giants, win or lose, he routed for his favorite teams. He had a love of all things “sweet”, one of his favorites was apple pie. If he wasn’t watching a game, he was watching a favorite movie or listening to his radio while sitting in the sun. Tony and Fran traveled in earlier years to Italy, FL, AZ and all-over New England including one of their favorite spots - Martha’s Vineyard.
Besides his wife of 67 years, Tony is survived by two sons, Anthony, Jr. of Lakewood Ranch, FL and Michael of Miami, FL; a daughter, Ann-Marie of Vineyard Haven, MA; two grandsons, Anthony, III and Matthew; one great grandson Anthony “AJ”, IV. Along with daughter-in-law, Monica, grand daughter-in-law, Jackie and Jorge Esparza, Tony also leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Angeline “Cookie” Komarow, Lucille and brother in-law Carl Carbone, all of Lakewood Ranch, FL, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his four sisters, Flo, Lorraine, Mary and Joan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 31st at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Military Honors will be held outside the church at the conclusion of the Mass. Burial will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
