Anita Catherine (Ferola) Miller, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of John H. Miller for 68 years, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2022 with her loving husband and children by her side. Born on June 20, 1931 in Hartford to the late Olindo and Anna (Ciruzzi) Ferola, Anita grew up in the South End of Hartford, proud of her Italian heritage, and lived in Wethersfield most of her life. She graduated at the top of her class from Bulkeley High School, where she met her high school sweetheart and husband John.
Anita was a beautiful woman in every sense of the word - to know her was to adore her. She was petite in stature but had a huge heart and an endearing smile. She loved Broadway musicals, and attending countless sporting and local events with John. Together they enjoyed traveling to national parks, visiting family in Italy, traveling to Europe, and participating in US friendship tours to Asia. She loved cooking for family and friends and everyone loved her wonderful pasta sauce and family favorite turkey stuffing. She was a very savvy shopper, and delighted in buying gifts for everyone and finding “good deals”. She was generous, caring and would do anything to make someone happy because as she always said, that gave her tremendous joy. Her greatest pride and happiness in life was celebrating birthdays and holidays together with her family and friends.
Anita was a deeply religious woman and her Catholic faith guided her throughout her life. In addition to her husband, Anita leaves her children, Ann Brickley, Nancy Davis (Jim) and John Miller II (Lisa), all of Wethersfield and six grandchildren, David Brickley, Robert Brickley, Laura Davis, Susan Davis, Regina Miller and Margaret Miller. She also leaves her dear sister, Elizabeth Howard and brother, John Ferola, both of Santa Ana, CA , sister, Katherine Glynn of Hartford and many nieces, nephews, cousins and endeared friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Anita’s life will be held Tuesday, March 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield.
