

Angela “Gina” (Mancuso) Caruso, 92, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife for 50 years of the late Antonio Caruso, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025 with her family by her side. Born in Luciani, province of Feroleto Antico (CZ), Italy on July 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Angelina Mancuso. Gina came to the U.S. in 1970 and worked as a seamstress for many years. Gina was an excellent cook and she enjoyed gardening, but most of all, she devoted her life to her family and was happiest when they were all together.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gina will be forever missed by her three children, Maria Cristina Gencarelli and husband Giuseppe of New Jersey, Mario Caruso of Wethersfield and Angelina Caruso of Rocky Hill; seven adored grandchildren, Joseph Gencarelli and wife Anna, Angela Gencarelli, Francesca Lopes and husband Wilson, Sabrina Mollica, Jessica Baich and husband Joseph, Angelica Mollica and life partner Dakota Colon, and Stephanie Nadeua and husband Jason, and 17 cherished great-grandchildren, Rocco, Camilla, Ava, Matthew, Ryan, Julia, Sebastian, Emilia, Joey, Joey, Lucas, Stella, Bianca, Gianni, Myah, Kalista and Reya. She is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews and extended family members in the U.S. and Italy. In addition to her husband and parents, Gina was sadly predeceased by her beloved son, Giuseppe “Pino” Caruso; three brothers, Pietro, Giuseppe and Francesco Mancuso and her sister, Marietta Mancuso. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, January 21 at 9 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation of Christ the King Parish, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Entombment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
