Virginia Edna Ross

ROSS, Virginia Edna (nee Anderson) of Township of Washington, NJ, peacefully entered into eternal life on December 26, 2017. Born June 19, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York, to Fred and Edna (Weaver) Anderson, her parents moved the family to Hillsdale, NJ when Ginny was just a year old. She attended George G. White School, Westwood High School and Westwood Secretarial School. Upon graduation she worked at Merchants Mutual Insurance Company as well as Babcock & Wilcox. After a short time, she met and married her beloved husband Donald Ross who preceded her in death in 2008. Once married, she became a full time wife and in 1952, welcomed her first and only child, D. Bruce Ross. Ginny loved gardening, walking and her many pets that came and went throughout the years. She had the biggest heart when it came to her fur babies and always took very good care of them and treated them as family members. Ginny is survived by her loving and devoted nieces, Holly O’Reilly (Dan) of River Vale, NJ and Pamela Butler of Farmington, CT, Meghan Eng (Jonathan) of Congers, New York and Courtney Bosley of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by her niece, Ellen Zeigler (Bob) and nephews, Glenn Ross, Jeff Ross, Gerald A. Merkle (Grace) and her sweet cat, Willow. Grandchildren, Stephanie, Brian and Kevin Ross as well as her daughter-in-law, Ellen Ross of Park Ridge, NJ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Irma Merkle (2010), brother-in-law, Gerald H. Merkle (2015) and her son, D. Bruce Ross (2017). Ginny will be missed by all who knew her for her funny and feisty demeanor. The family wishes to thank her caregiver, Dolores Olaya, who comforted her these last few months as well as her friends, and neighbors who were always there to lend a hand.
