ROBERT M. STAJEK, age 53, of Harrington Park, New Jersey, passed away on January 19th, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Marta, his parents, Bob and Judy Stajek, his brother, Joseph, as well as cousins, extended family, and close friends.
Rob grew up in Kearny, New Jersey, and attended Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington, New Jersey. He later went on to St. Peter’s University in Jersey City. Rob started his career in sales and throughout his career worked his way into becoming a successful real estate broker at Sotheby’s.
In 2013, Rob became a Freemason and joined Eclipse Lodge #67 in Rutherford. As a 3rd degree Master Mason, Rob was committed to bettering himself, his community, and the world around him.
Rob was a big guy with an even bigger heart. He loved connecting with people around him. In fact, his ability to do so earned him the title of the “Mayor of Chadwick Beach” by his family because of the many friendships and acquaintances he made at the Jersey Shore town where his parents live. He loved strolling around and spending time at the beach in Chadwick. He also loved to travel with his wife, Marta, and became a lover of all things French after his first visit to Paris. Whether sitting in a Paris bistro, or on a deck at the Jersey shore smoking a cigar, Rob most of all loved a good conversation. Along with the gift of gab, Rob always did everything with a unique and dapper sense of style, and could be often seen wearing his signature bow ties and hats.
One last thing you may not know about this guy . . . He was Cuban in his heart. He embraced his wife’s Cuban heritage and celebrated everything about it -- the food, the cigars, the family and their traditions.
If there is a French bistro, or a Cuban coffee shop in heaven, Rob will be there. He is the stylish guy with the little hat. Just pull up a chair, because he is ready to share his latest observations. Rob will be missed beyond words and he will forever be in our hearts.
And . . . we will always have París.
