SCHMIDT, Robert C. Sr., 98, of Old Tappan, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, January 6th, 2021. Robert is survived by his beloved sons Robert Jr. and his wife Donna and Andrew and his wife Kim; his grandchildren Autumn, Daniel, Dana, Eric, Kerri and Kristen and his 6 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his dear wife Elsie. Robert fought valiantly for his country serving in North Africa, Sicily and the D-Day campaigns of WWII in addition to being a P.O.W. for 1/3rd of his military service. Upon his return stateside, Robert worked as a Tool & Die-Maker, producing parts for the landing gear of the C5A Super Transport, modern pens and tin cans. Cremation held privately. Interment of Robert and Elsie's cremated remains at Arlington National Cemetery to be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in Robert's name to the Valley Hospital Hospice.
