This pic was from when I came out to see Grandpa (and the rest of our Jersey family) many many years ago.  I think this may have been the first or second time I met Randy - and what a fun kid he was!  He was fascinated with my electric guitar and he liked the song, "Life Is A Highway".  Even though we are way out here in Ohio, Aunt Annie always sent out pics to my Mom to let us know how and where Randy was in life - what a fine young man he became!  I remember being amazed at how BIG he got over the years and he was quite the athlete.   You will be missed greatly, Randy.  We're sending our deepest sympathies to Jennifer, Patty, John, Bill, Lynne - and ALL the NJ family and friends - from your Ohio cousins, David and Patrick.

I was very saddened to hear about Randy’s passing. I would like to express my condolences to Jennifer, the Daviet family, the Scott family, and all of Randy’s friends. I knew Randy when he was little as he lived across the street from my family and I. I can remember when Randy was about 3 years old playing baseball with him and saying to myself that there is no way a 3 year old should be able to throw a ball this fast or hit a ball that far. At this point I knew that Randy was going to be a tremendous athlete. Reading all the posts and tributes it is quite evident that he was a tremendous person as well. Randy may you Rest In Peace.

I met Randy for the first time on the day he came home from the hospital following his birth. My wife Lynne and I drove Randy and Jennifer home that day.  Randy was immediately received with enthusiasm by everyone, especially by my parents who he came to know as Nana and Papa. He was their first grandchild and was lavished with affection and gifts throughout his childhood years. He was. always a rock star whenever he visited 24 Clinton Ave and he loved my parents and the home.

As Randy grew older, he developed a great love for baseball and had early dreams of a pro career. Westwood was a great place to grow up and he loved to play outside with his friends. One year my brother John built an outdoor structure of scrap wood for playing and climbing on and he loved that too.

Over the years Randy always seemed happy. He was pretty quiet but often smiling.  He was kind and respectful and got along well with his cousins as they entered the Daviet family over the years. He was always best friends with his mother and he loved her fiercely, as she did towards him.Somewhere in his too short life Randy lost his way. We simply did not know-and then he was gone.

Randy’s passing is a devastating loss for all of us who love him and remain, yet there is a silver lining as somewhere along the way Randy did receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Savior. I know that means that Randy now lives with fellow believers in a place where he is rejoicing on streets paved with gold; reunited with his nana and papa, in the presence of the Lord, in a place where there is no more pain or sickness, and where he will one day be reunited with his mom and the remainder of our family who have faith. Our loss is his gain. 

Goodbye Randy. Love conquers all things and our God is faithful, loving and eternal. We will see you again!

Randy hit a 1st inning two-run HR in the first inning of the 2006 County Tournament Semi-Finals to lead Westwood  to a win over previously undefeated Old Tappan, who was 28-0 at the time and ranked #1 in the State and County, 

You were the first to call me “Aunt Patty”. A title I will always cherish. Thank you, Randy, for bringing so much light and love into my life and so many others 
So lucky to have been your aunt, even for too short a time. 💔

I will never forget Randy and his happy smile.  Ever since he was a little one, his smile would warm my heart. I was Aunt Lynne to Randy and he was my first nephew.
