Michael James Blazina

Blazina, Michael James, 56, of River Vale, formerly of Cliffside Park, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015. Born in Englewood, to Anneliese Blazina and the late Anthony Blazina, Jr. Mike graduated from St. Peter’s College with a Bachelor degree in Accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant. For the last 30 years, Mike served as Chief Financial Officer of several manufacturing corporations. Most recently, he was honored to work with Alpine Community Church in their business office. Beloved husband of Kathleen (Hunt). Devoted father of Michael and Natalie. Dear brother to Karen Quagliariello and Anthony Blazina and loving son of Anneliese Blazina. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In addition to being with his family and friends, Mike loved traveling, fishing, community service and his beloved NY Giants (win or lose). He was an avid griller and often invited his friends, as well as the friends of his teen and young adult children, to enjoy the summer festivities in his back yard. He enjoyed the laughter and love of friends and family. In addition, he is well remembered for his Christmas displays, which lit up the entire neighborhood and brought joy to all.

The family will receive friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd, Westwood, on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral mass celebrating Mike’s life will be at St. Pius X Church in Old Tappan on Wednesday, July 8 at 10:30 am. Burial will be in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
