Maureen C. Leggiere

Maureen C. Leggiere, loving wife of the late Philip S. Leggiere and mother of two sons, Philip Guy Leggiere and Brian Keith Leggiere, passed away peacefully at Allegro Senior Care Facility in Harrington Park, NJ, on November 30th, 2023 at the age of 92. Born in the Bronx, NY on March 10th, 1931, Mrs. Leggiere moved to Bergenfield, NJ in her early teens and was a long-time Bergen County resident; while living part of the year in southern Florida.

A graduate of Bergenfield High School's class of 1949, she was captain of the cheerleading squad. Mrs. Leggiere worked for several years as an elementary school teacher at St. Francis Of Assisi School in Ridgefield Park, NJ and St. Mary School in Dumont, NJ. She also served as Secretary of the Bergen County Republican Committee.

An avid golfer, she and her husband were long-time members of the Knickerbocker Country Club in Tenafly, NJ. In addition to her two sons, Mrs. Leggiere is survived by five grandchildren, Chaim, Frances, Ilana, Nora and Jack Leggiere as well as by two siblings, Jacqueline Griesi and Paul Ives.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6th, 2023 from 4-8 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ. A Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, December 7th, 2023 at Our Lady of Victories R.C. Church in Harrington Park, NJ, with entombment to follow at Garden of Memories in Township Of Washington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mrs. Leggiere's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital @ Stjude.org/Donate
