Our deepest condolences to you, Denise, and the entire family. We will always remember Kevin as someone who had character and dignity and was always so kind and caring. His love and devotion to his family were obvious and I'm sure he will be greatly missed by so many!  Paul and I are so sorry to hear about his passing.

As a shy, reserved child, it was easy for me to feel overwhelmed in social settings... Especially when those settings involved the "Hayes energy!"  I often felt like an outsider - not sure who to turn to.  But I only ever remember feeling welcomed and loved at Uncle Kevin and Aunt Denise's house.  Uncle Kevin always thought to pull me aside and talk to me quietly, to let me know that he really saw me.  As an adult with children of my own, I can appreciate how touching it is when grown ups reach out to kids and help them to feel safe.  I have only the greatest amount of love and respect for my gentle uncle.  You will absolutely be missed.

I have very fond memories of Kevin growing up and visiting the Dorney household. He was a very kind and caring man. My condolences to Brandon, Lexi, Denise and the rest of the family.

Kevin was a wonderful example of what a loving father and husband should be. He devoted his life to keeping them safe and secure. Tom and I were very blessed to have him in our lives and will miss him.

Although I never knew your dad personally, to know the son that he raised so well tells me he must have been a remarkably kind, patient, and loving person. My deepest sentiments to you and Jenn for the loss of such a significant person in your lives.

It is our understanding through quantum physics that energy cannot be created nor destroyed.  Even though our loved ones can physically leave us, their energy and love never goes away.  Find peace in your hearts and feel that love inside of you.  That connection will always remain.  My deepest sympathies.

Uncle Kevin had a way of always making me feel special. He would always greet me with "hello gorgeous" and a huge hug and smile.  His love of family was evident, as was his pride in Brandon and Lexi. I can remember babysitting on Saturdays when Aunt Denise was working and Uncle Kevin would play golf. He used to drive me home in his hot rod, and we would sing and talk the whole way! He taught me to love a cold chocolate chip cookie, and he teased me about this the last time I saw him in February. He never missed a family event, and was there for all of my milestones-and my two boys' special events! 
Your presence will forever be missed. May we all find comfort in our memories-you definitely left your mark on my heart...rest in peace dear uncle.

I will never forget how kind Kevin was when I first met Sean's family. He made a point of pulling me aside early, and we had a long conversation. I was so grateful, because I didn't know anyone else there, and I come from a really small family. There were so many, many people in this family and I was really nervous and overwhelmed. He put me at ease. He just told me to stick with him, kid, and I would be OK. So I did. I stuck with Kevin. He always made me feel at home, just like family. Even this past week, he took the time -- of which he had so little -- to make sure I was all right. To make sure I was comfortable. It's just the kind of man he was. A gentle, gentle man. I will miss him and my heart breaks for Denise, Brandon and Alexis and what we, his family, will miss going forward.

KD, losing a brother and a friend is painful, in these last few weeks you showed us all that having dignity is a beautiful thing. The last time I saw you, you told me you were sorry for not being able to "text me back", even though you were in the hospital. You also told me that "the Yankees were in first place!". Knowing I'm a Red Sox fan I knew that was something you wanted me to know. You cared so much for the people you loved, you saw how sad we all were, but you were able to make us laugh through all your pain. 
God must have really needed you KD to take you away so suddenly. But family can never really be parted because we have memories that will always be with us. 
And now with all the dignity you showed us over all these years, I'll cry now because you are gone, but I'll smile later because you lived. Rest in peace. Love, Sean

I'll never forget how Uncle Kevin and Aunt Denise opened their home to me one summer so I could go to school in the city. They were my surrogate parents for seven weeks: taking me to the train station, having family dinners, putting up with me singing loudly. He was a kind and generous man with a huge heart and an insurmountable love of family. I will miss him dearly.

Brandon and Jenn, I'm so sorry for your loss. Not hard to see the impact he left on this world. May he rest in peace.

At this point I dont remember much of life before you and your family were a part of it. You have been my "brother" and my family for close to 20 years and your mom and dad have been my family as well. Your mom and dad watched me grow just the way my own mom and dad have, going through all the ups and downs of life with me always taking the time to see how I was or give some loving and supportive words. Your dad always knew the right thing to say and sometimes he knew when the best action was just a big hug. I will miss those hugs and his always kind and caring tone, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family now and always. Love you Brother

Uncle Kevin was one of a kind. He will be deeply missed by all. These pictures made me cry...I forgot he had a stache LOL So many great memories w him :)
