Joseph Louis Gentile

Joseph Louis Gentile, 92, formerly of New Milford, NJ, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021. He was born in Mola di Bari, Italy to Francesco and Giovanna Gentile. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1936 with his family settling in Brooklyn, NY, eventually moving to New Milford, NJ. He has spent the last three years residing in Highland Mills, NY. He was an active parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church in Oradell, NJ and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Beloved husband of the late Mary Gentile. Devoted father of Joann and George Tashji and their children Joseph and Albert and his fiancee Kim. Gina and Jim Cush and their children James and his fiancee Samantha, Richard and his wife Natasha, and Jennifer and her husband Stephen and their children Leo and Soleil Camille and Ralph Lucanie and their children Lenny and his wife Samanta and their daughter Jennifer, Joseph and his wife Melanie and their daughter Avery, Christina, and Maria and her husband Frank. Elisa and Rich Durante and their children Melissa and her husband Peter, and their daughter Vivian, and Michael and his fiancee Nicole and Christopher and his wife Alexa. He is survived by his brother, Vito Gentile. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Wednesday from 4-8PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Joseph’s life and faith will be held at St. Joseph R.C. Church, Oradell, NJ on Thursday at 10AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village Queens, NY.
