I was saddened to hear the passing of John. Had I known I would have been there to show my respects.  
John was a fine gentleman for whom I had the greatest respect.

Jake and Pepa!!!!!! Pepa taught the best life lessons to his grandchildren.  He loved to kid around and make everything fun!!!!  We will continue to carry on his life lessons!!!!

I had the honor and privilege to know and work for John. I was also lovingly welcomed into his family. John was tough but fair and never judgemental. I recall John was one who who would revel in the enjoyment of others, especially when it came to riding snowmobiles upstate. John’s influence on me carries on to this day, and I sometimes find myself thinking about the lessons I learned from being with John and his beloved wife Josephine. Although I had not had direct contact with John recently, I continue to hold them both in the highest regard. Words cannot express the loss we feel at our home. John will be missed, but he lives in us in how we live our lives every day.

We will miss him dearly. He was a father to so many and always was looking to help others. In honor of him, dance to “Go, Johnny, Go” and sing along to “Country Road”. He’ll be smiling on all of us from heaven.

John Oberg  was a great person who had a terrific and glowing personality. I will never forget the uplifting sound of his laughter.
It was hilarious. 
I was very fortunate to have his presence in my life.
He was a class A father and grandfather who knew how to love his family wholeheartedly 🙏.

I have many fond memories of time spent at the Oberg house.  I always felt like Mr. Oberg looked out for me, he had a kind nature and was so thoughtful and generous.  Sending prayers and love to the family, he will be greatly missed.  -Christine

Cherishing memories of John when working for him in the 1970s at Oberg and Linquist when I was in college.   John was a kind man and I'll always remember all the talks we had about politics and the state of the world.   In my heart forever.  Love to the family.  Abbey Dressler Feierstein

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, John was gone before I knew it. He was a mentor and a friend to me for over 40 years. A thoughtful, compassionate and generous gentleman, an honor to know. His passing is a great loss. It's difficult at the moment to see beyond the sorrow, but for me in the days ahead he will always be a very treasured memory in my heart.

My family offers our sincer condolences to the Oberg family.  I had the pleasure of working for John at the store and I learned so much from him.  His drive and determination made for the most incredible work ethic one person could ever have.  His spirit, his smile and his laugh will be surely missed in this world.  My family prays that he is at peace with Josephine in heaven.  God Bless you John.
