DEMPSEY, John E. “Jack”, 84, of Twp. of Washington, NJ, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to James V. and Catherine Dempsey. Beloved husband of Anita Dempsey (nee Barbato). Devoted father of Anita Meluso, and Jacqueline Stoller and her husband Scott. Dear brother of Kathleen R. Dempsey. Loving grandfather of Kathleen Stoller and John Meluso. Cherished uncle of Lesley Mitchell and her husband John and their children Daniel, Joseph and James, and Juliette Sciavolino-Liput and her husband Robert and their children Joanna and Robert and many other nieces and nephews. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Jack’s life and faith will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, Twp. of Washington, NJ on Thursday at 10AM. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Jack’s name to the Special Olympics.
