James C. Simpson

James C Simpson, 88, of Columbia, SC, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2024. James was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara. Devoted father of Estelle Gatta (Frank) and Vicki Samolowicz (Joe). Dear brother of Robert. He was predeceased by his sister Anna and brother William. Loving grandfather of Frances Lazarow (Jonathan), James Samolowicz (Kylie), Katherine Gatta (Tre Commings) and Vinny Gatta. Loving great-grandfather of Zoey Samolowicz. Born in Englewood, NJ, he lived in Washington Township for 63 years. James was a manufacturing manager, with Mosler and Timeplex.

He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and the Washington Township senior group. The family will receive their relatives and

friends on Thursday, Feb 29 at 9:00AM at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ.

A Mass celebrating James’s life and faith will be held on Feb 29 at 11AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Washington Township, NJ. The ENTOMBMENT will follow at Cemetery of the Ascension in Monsey, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Food Bank of New Jersey cfbnj.org
