Glenn Jamieson Quantmeyer, age 61, of The Villages, FL and Harrington Park, NJ passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, after a brief courageous battle with a rare form of cancer named cholangiocarcinoma. He was born July 23, 1962, in Westwood, NJ to Jeanie Jamieson Quantmeyer and Fred Henry Quantmeyer, Jr.
Glenn is survived by his son, Christian Bennett Quantmeyer; his siblings, Lynn Q. Kelley (Paul) of Wilmington, DE; Allan J. Quantmeyer (Debra Semsey) of Conway, SC and Ellen J. Quantmeyer of Newport, RI. Additionally, there are numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces. Glenn was predeceased by his wife, Jamie Rose Quantmeyer; and both of his parents Jeanie J. Quantmeyer (“Jamie”) and Fred H. Quantmeyer, Jr. (“Q”).
Glenn spent his entire childhood in Harrington Park, NJ starting his first business at the young age of eleven years old…mowing lawns, snow removal, as well as volunteering during his teen years for the HP Fire Department. While figuring out his trade in life, he dabbled in the culinary arts @ the HP Bakery & Rose DeRosa’s Catering and also in photography in which he created a magnificent dark room in the basement of 30 Kline. In addition, Glenn worked at the HP Department of Public Works while attending night school at Ramapo College. After eight long years of working full-time and commuting to Ramapo, Glenn received his Bachelor of Arts in Law Enforcement. Glenn found his love of serving others through his employment with the Harrington Park Police Department for a little over twenty-three years. Glenn continued to give back to the HP community as a compassionate police officer, a well respected entrepreneur, and a landlord like no other.
Glenn was an amazing human being, one of a kind, who treated everyone with kindness and courtesy. Even during challenges in his life, Glenn kept a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eyes and a wicked good sense of humor. He was a dedicated husband to Jamie, a devoted father to Christian, and a wonderful friend and brother. We all know you didn’t see this one coming Glenn, it wasn’t on your list. You will be sorely missed by each and every one of us who had the utmost pleasure of being in your life.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Harrington Park Police Department, 49 LaRoche Avenue and/or the Harrington Park Fire Department, 13 Kline Street Harrington Park, NJ 07640
