George Zahnleiter

George Zahnleiter, passed away July 25, 2023. George was born in Jersey City, the youngest child of Henry & Lilo Zahnleiter, and he was raised in Hillsdale, NJ. George graduated from Pascack Valley High School, Hillsdale, NJ.

George was an auto mechanic at Concord Automotive in Westwood and then in Dumont, NJ. As a sport, he would car race. George was in many races along the east coast, the best race he won was his sweetheart Nancy.

George and his beloved Nancy lived in Hillsdale, NJ. He later changed careers and was a Produce Manager for Grand Union and later Kings Supermarket in Hillsdale. When George retired, he did volunteer work at the Paramus Veterans Memorial Home for many years. Also, he was a lifelong animal activist.

George is a long time friend of Bill. George is survived by his beloved Nancy, countless family members, friends, and neighbors and his devoted dog, Penny.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2023, at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood. On Saturday, July 29, 2023, a small service will be held at Becker Funeral Home at 10:30am, followed by George Washington Cemetery, 234 Paramus Rd., Paramus, NJ 07652.
