Beloved husband of Eleanor (Ferlise). Dear brother of John Wacha (Viola) Devoted father of Eileen Rudolph (Peter), Patricia Maurer (George), and Stacey Marrone. Grandchildren, Jennifer Rossetti (Gregg), Brian Rudolph, (Tracey), Scott Rudolph, Hayley Maurer, Allison Maurer, Carlynn Collier (Chris), Caroline Marrone, Clare Marrone and Rocco Marrone. Great grandchildren, Landon Rossetti, Sophie Rossetti, Jack Rudolph and Paige Rudolph. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Born in Teaneck, NJ to Fritz and Helen Wacha, Fred grew up in Teaneck, raised a family in Dumont before moving to Bald Eagle Commons in West Milford and then eventually settling down in Manalapan. Fred was a Parts Manager for Edward Ehrbar in Pelham Manor, NY before retiring in 1991. He served in the Navy during World War 2 and was awarded the title “Grey Dragon” for being the member with the earliest date of entry into the Special Weapons/Nuclear Weapons Program.
Fred enjoyed travelling, taking cross-country road trips, cruises and even a flight to Dallas to watch his beloved Cowboys play. Visits to Atlantic City were frequent and when he wasn’t there taking his chances at the penny slots, he’d do scratch-offs at home. Other hobbies included model trucks, coloring books, collecting coins and chatting, charming everyone he met along life’s way.
The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Tuesday November 21 from 2pm to 4 pm then 6 pm to 8 pm. The interment will be on Wednesday, November 22 at 11:30 am at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
