Frank J. Swan, of Paramus, passed away on December 20th at Valley Hospital. Beloved husband of childhood sweetheart Jerilyn (Cartier) Swan for 58 years. Devoted father of Jeffrey Swan and daughter-in-law, Karen Swan. Loving grandfather of Kevin, Claudia, and Christopher. Pre-deceased by his parents Frank Sr. and Madeline Swan. Cherished brother-in-law, Bruce Cartier Sr., and wife Maureen. Nephew, Bruce Cartier Jr. and nieces Larissa Cartier and Patricia Raymond. Treasured sister-in-law, Lynda Lavelle and brother-in-law Gary Lavelle.
Born in Teaneck and resided in Paramus for 42 years. Frank was a print artist/typesetter in the composing room of the Bergen Evening Record for 42 years. He served honorably in the New Jersey National Guard and the New Jersey Army reserves for many years. Frank was a fan of the outdoors and loved both fresh and saltwater fishing taking many daytrips with friends. For years the family spent vacations in Lake George at his cousin's lake house where many fond family memories were made. Cape May became another special vacation spot taking his endeared Bichons Jack, and now Gizmo, to stay at a pet friendly hotel. Frank always enjoyed a favorite seafood restaurant there called The Lobster House.
Family will greet guests at Becker Funeral Home located at 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood on Tue. Jan. 3 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm as well as a service on Wed. Jan.4 at 10:30am. Burial will proceed at George Washington Cemetery in Paramus.
