Her parents Manuel and Sarah Ramirez raised 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls. Esperanza and her sister Blanca immigrated to the United States in 1969 and settled with their sister Olga and nephew Juan Carlos in New York City.
In 1971, Esperanza met the love of her life Elroy Henrik Warn, they married on November 3, 1973 and settled in the Manhattan suburbs of Bergen County NJ. In 1977 they welcomed their first son Henrik Jason, built their home of 35 years in Woodcliff Lake NJ, and then welcomed their second son Roger Elroy in 1982. In 1999, Esperanza welcomed her beloved niece Ana Maria from Colombia and cared for her.
After studying the Bible with her best friend Eileen Palmer, Esperanza was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1974, she was devoted to her faith and sharing her deep knowledge of the Bible with as many as she could. In addition to ingraining a deep Christian faith in her sons, she was well known in the local Latino community for her ability to teach the bible and English to Hispanic immigrants. She touched the lives of countless.
Esperanza loved her family time in the Adirondacks where the Warn and Nordman families had homes near Gore Mountain Ski Resort, she also loved her summer cottage on the lake in Union, Maine where the Warn and Kuusio families have homes on Seven Tree Pond. She enjoyed most sharing her homes with her friends, constantly entertaining all she could. As a couple and family, she enjoyed traveling the world.
She battled juvenile type 1 diabetes for most of her adult life with avid exercise, nutrition and self care.
In 2006 and 2008 her greatest joy of 2 grandchildren Kaia Madison and Lukas Henrik expanded her heart. As a dedicated abuelita (AKA “Lita”…..because “no one should think I am old enough to be an abuela”), she constantly played and taught them to love life, family, and most of all our God Jehovah.
In their retirement, Elroy and Esperanza lived in Florida where they enjoyed nightly sunsets from their home overlooking Tampa Bay. There they loved spending time with her many nieces and nephews and sister Blanca and husband Ron. They also loved watching the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey games together.
Esperanza is survived by her loving husband Elroy, her son Jason and wife Valentina, her son Roger and wife Dale, and her grandchildren Lukas and Kaia.
