Edward Michael Flynn, 54, from Middletown, NJ, passed away in his sleep on July 9. He was born in The Bronx, NY and grew up in Emerson, NJ. He was loving son to Michael and Brigid Flynn and proud father to Eamonn and Owen Flynn.
Ed was a kind soul and a friend to so many. He was close with his siblings Brendan (Michelle), Annette (Rob) Rosta, Stephen, and Kathleen (Jack) Gavin. While attending Assumption grammar school, Ed met best friends for life. He attended St. Joseph’s Regional High School and St. Bonaventure University (BA in Finance and Business), during both of those experiences he got to know and thoroughly have fun with more lifelong friends. In the summers, he loved being a caddie at Hackensack Golf Club. He started at Merrill Lynch in Wealth Management over 25 years ago where he enjoyed the camaraderie of additional friends. He married Tara Ward and moved to Middletown, NJ, where again he continued to develop friendships.
There is a common theme here about Ed, he made truly genuine friendships during every stage of his life. Everyone was his “buddy” to either laugh with, golf with, talk sports with or just “hang” with and each relationship was very meaningful to him. Even more, Ed made sure all the groups of friendships grew to know each other and become friends.
Ed is also survived by his dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
While his time with us was too short, we know that when we see him in heaven we’ll be greeted by our lifelong friend.
