Dominick A. Catalano

CATALANO, Dominick A., 84, of Park Ridge, NJ, formerly of Hillsdale, NJ, Eastham, MA, and Hudson, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday, December 14th, 2019, at the Villa Marie Claire in Saddle River, NJ. Dominick is survived by his beloved wife Mary Lou; his children Anthony Catalano and his wife Heidi, Phyllis Hannigan and her husband Vincent, Mary Gangeri and her husband Jeff, Linda Zurich and her husband James; his sisters Connie Jenkins and her husband Brad and Florence Atherton; his grandchildren Daniel, Alyssa, Patrick, Caitlin, Sean, Brenden, Erin, Amanda, Taylor, Anthony, and James; his great-grandchildren Dominick Gangeri and Logan Gangeri. He is predeceased by his loving siblings Rose Reisman and her husband Robert, Maddy Jensen and her husband Jack, Mary Varsico and her husband Phil, and his brother-in-law Bert.

Dominick was born on July 27th, 1936, in New York City. He married Mary Lou in 1955, later moving to Hillsdale, NJ. A devoted family man and friend, Dominick was the second-generation owner of Approved Ambulance and Oxygen Service based out of Bronx, NY. Recently, Dominick became a 55-year member of the Westwood Elks Lodge 1562. Dominick was an avid golfer, fisherman, gardener, Giants & Yankees fan, a great storyteller, jokester, and always the life of the party. Dominick was known as Pop and “Big D” to those who loved him.

The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ on Tuesday, December 17th from 2 - 4 PM and 7 - 9 PM. A Mass celebrating Dominick’s life and faith will be held at St. John The Baptist R.C. Church in Hillsdale, NJ on Wednesday, December 18th at 10 AM with interment at St. Anthony Cemetery in Nanuet, NY to follow.
