Anna Anastasi

Anna (nee Nemets), 78, of Hillsdale, NJ, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013. She was born in West New York, NJ to Stephen and Agnes Nemets . Beloved wife of the late Honorable Richard V. Anastasi. Devoted mother of Jack Anastasi, Juliann Anastasi, Ricky Anastasi, and Elena Aligo. Dear sister of Albin and Andrew Nemets, Mary Ivora and thte late Stephen Nemets. Cherished grandmother of Richie, Elena, Sierra, Olivia, Victoria, Steven, Julianna, Ricky, Thomas and Ava. Sister-in-law of Dominick Anastasi, Jospeh Ivora, Roberta Anastasi, Sylvia SIccardi, Edith Nemets and Margaretta Nemets. Anna is also survived by her son-in-law Thomas Aligo and her daughters-in-law Edna Rios, Joanne Anastasi and Laurie Anastasi. Anna met her husband Richard at 12 years old when he asked her to play catch, they dated through high school and were later married. They were married 51 years with Richard’s passing in 2012. She was a Dental Assistant when first married and later became a Legal Secretary for her husband for the last 30 years. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, loved to cook for her family and vacationing at Seaside, NJ and Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist parish in Hillsdale for 40 years. She was a graduate of St. Joseph of the Palisades High School, Class of 1953. A special word of thanks to the Hillsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps for their assistance, kindness and caring. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Anna’s life and faith will be at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Hillsdale, NJ on Thursday at 10:45AM.
