I met Bill after my sister was invited to a house party next door to where she lived. It was sometime in the fall of1968. Harriet asked me to be her babysitter that evening and take care of my nephew, Nick. He was about 3 years old at the time. The party went on all night and into the next morning. Harriet finally came home around 7am all giggly and happy like I hadn't seen her in years. I didn't know why. I met Bill about a week later and it became very clear that she was in love with the guy and it didn't take long before Bill became more to me than just my sister's boyfriend. He became a real friend. A little over a year later Bill became my brother-in-law when he married my sister on Valentine's Day. Many happy times followed and they stayed together for the rest of their lives. I have many great memories from those years. We were family. It doesn't get any better than that!

I remember when I first met Don, and we would stop at Bill and Harriet's  house without calling first.  Don walked right into the house!  I said "what are you doing?"- but quickly found out that is the way they wanted it.  We were always welcome.  If the door was locked, they weren't home.

And the yearly 4th of July pool/BBQ parties!  What fun.  I met so many people, could never remember all their names.   Have many pictures and so many great memories, even after they moved to Murietta.

My Uncle Bill has been a big part of my life from the time I was a little girl to now as an adult. He was there for me and my mom, his big sister Betty, whenever we needed him. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for my uncle who did more for me than my own father. I will miss him  so very much. I love you Uncle Bill.
