Where do I start? Ron and I met in the mid 80's,when I owned a ticket agency in Anaheim Hills. This was before Ca.passed laws on scalping concert and sporting event tickets. LOL. We became fast friends,and even had season tickets together. We both shared a deep passion,love,and respect for the games,as well as our favorite teams. Through the years Ron and his beautiful wife Janet became family. And even though I moved 3000 miles away from him and Janet, the bond that had been formed never weakened. I love you Ron,my friend, my brother,and you will forever live in my heart. This is not good-by, we will see each other again. The world was a better place with you in it. I love you. RIP my dear friend...until we meet again.

So sorry I never got a chance to meet you.I am myself a Super Fan.  It would have been great to meet you at a game some time.  You are a legend and you will be missed by all.

Ron and I were in the Hall of Fame together in 2001. We always talked after that because we were both involved in the pfufa. Enjoyed getting to know run on the phone in Minnesota but things got really cool as I moved out here to Sacramento in 2011. Ron welcomed to me with open arms and let me sit with him at a game. He introduced me to the bad boys of BBQ tailgate guys and also the Hall of Fame fans from Raider Nation. I will always be grateful for his Hospitality his friendship and his laughter. Ron and I met in 1999 at the Raiders Bucs game in Oakland. Ron saved my Red Pirate butt and adopted me into his tailgate, but I had to call the Bucs and beg them to let the Raiders win. The Bucs did as I asked and the Raiders won 45-0. We were both then inducted to The Hall of Fame and the rest is just an unbreakable friendship of being there for each other no matter what. I loved his humor, he loved mine, and we were a great team. I will love and miss ya Ronny. Now that you're gone, Captain does trump General in pirate world. Just sayin. You will not be forgotten buddy.

Janet.... I never had the pleasure of meeting Ron however I felt I knew him through you. You would share his goofiness with me when we would chat and tell me stories of you and him. I am so thankful to have known and called Ron my friend and mentor and I loved him dearly. He taught me about respect and humility and how to be gracious. We constantly laughed when we were together giving each other digs about the opposing team and never minced words. I always knew when I walked with Ron, each of us sporting our team spirit, people would look at us cross eyed and confused but we would just laugh and find a joke to tell. I will miss him and know he's always with us in heaven being the biggest angel wearing black!

Ron was the first one to contact me about joining PFUFA after I became a Visa Hall of Fame member. If it wasn't for Ron, I would have missed my first reunion. The friendship that he has showed me over the years is priceless. I'm amazed at all the fan's Ron has touched in his life. He will truly be missed!

Ron, Words won't express the indelible mark you left on my life, your mentorship, council and most importantly your friendship will be greatly missed.  Thank you for the inspiration and guidance. I will see you again.

My Love, My Husband, My Best Friend! I am missing you more than words. I will always cherish the memories we shared, the laughs and tears! We were supposed to grow old together in this book called life but, God needed you more, he had other plans! We were not perfect, we had spats like married couples do. They did not last, you would not let them linger, you would say... "Pout" "You still love me, don't you?" Me... "Of course with a kiss!" The same went for me. You told me early on in our relationship. We can never go to bed upset or leave in the morning without saying "I love you and a kiss!" because you never know what might happen... we never did! We always had a great time, it did not matter what we did as long as it was together. If we went to the beach, took the dogs to the park or just a drive. We made it fun it didn't matter, it was all good. Ron, would always say... "Baby, we had a great afternoon didn't we?" I would say, BIG smile "Yes, we did!" We would go to Costco, him in their cart me chasing him through the store! Me... Ronnn? Him... What baby? Me... slow down! Him... Buttt, you're getting your exercise? Me... Right with a laugh!! You loved seeing me smile and laugh, this made you extra happy. Even when times got hard and things got tough, of course, I would worry and you would say, Baby you worry to worry, it will be OK, we will work it out! Baby, you were my rock, my strength even when you were so sick. You had so much faith and trusted in the Lord to take care of us like He always did!! Baby, so you know I will have that same trust in the Lord and will always seek him first! You loved Raider football!!!! That was your passion and I never stood in the way of you enjoying that dream! I supported you in whatever you wanted to do and you did the same for me! We not only loved each other, we also trusted which made our relationship stronger. We were the 2 pieces of this puzzle called life and baby one day the pieces will be together and the puzzle will be complete again. Until then there will not be a day I will not think of you... You were my first and my last! I love you Pop Pie and will miss you deeply... BIG HUGS and KISSES your baby aka Pookie Bear. Dude and Shelby miss their daddy too! I met Ron when he and Janet first started dating. He was the light of her life and now that light is shining in heaven.

Ron, there is nothing I can say about you that anyone whoever met you didn't already know. But there is one thing for sure NO ONE and I do mean NO ONE will ever be a bigger Raider fan than you. Through thick and thin you were there every week and never gave up no matter what, and that is how  you treated everyone.  Ron didn't even know who I was when I  called him and ask him could he get me game tickets, and as everybody who knew him knows he didn't even think twice, that is who Ron was.  Ron was a good man with a big heart and would help anyone anytime. Janet I want you to know if you ever need anything let me know, Ron was always there for me and I could never in a life time help as many people as he did. I'm still in shock with Ron's passing.  Ron was a good friend, and even better person.  I'll always remember the time Ron spent the weekend taking my father-in-law and me out around San Fran and Oakland when we were in visiting.  That meant more to me then he'll ever know.  Someone with Ron's celebrity status taking the time and weekend to spend with us was amazing and just goes to show you what type of person Ron was.  I still laugh when I think back at some of our conversations and jokes.  Ron - you are and will be very missed.  I hope you are at peace and pain-free, and you are reunited with Dan.  You're legacy will continue and I'm grateful that you were part of me and my family's life. Rest-In-Peace.

I am so grateful to have met Raider Ron. When I worked for the Raiders, I visited the Bad Boyz of BBQ to interview him about attending his 200th straight game. He was gracious, friendly, excited and always so passionate about his Raiders. When I started to travel with the team, I would see him in the lobby of the hotel or up in the stands every single week. To see him at every game was a level of comfort for me. Sometimes non-Raiders fans have a warped view of Raiders fans - but Ron always showed that amazing people support the Silver and Black. I feel privileged to have known him and will miss him! Raider Ron - ONCE A RAIDER, ALWAYS A RAIDER.

How do I start , with tears running  down my face. I remember  when you were inducted  into the NFL HOF , it was the year after I was , you were such a proud fan of the Raider Nation . You and Spike ragged on me the whole 4 days . That's  when I learned to love the Nation. And the Next year me you and Hardcore  may he rest in peace hung out with spike, Those were great times  we made history we were the fans that had plaques  in the Hall Of Fame , we were the original SUPER FANS and we wore it proud . Ron and Janet were my friends Ron made sure  I rode in the stretch  limo in Baltimore  with the HOF fans. We emerged  out of the limo  15 deep  I could go on for hours about the 10 years I spent coming to the hall and kicking it with Raider Ron , but my tears are coming too fast and my heart hurts  Janet and Betty I love you both and I keep you in my prayers always. I became aware of "The General" when the OC Register did a wonderful article about him and his passion for our beloved Raiders! I have known Ron since elementary school however after high school we lost track as many people do. With the invention of FB we became friends again. Janet, he spoke so fondly of you and the doggies while he was in town a few years ago!! That was a night I will NEVER forget and will cherish. When we were all going to meet up this past Thanksgiving and Ron was hospitalized I was heartbroken. When I see all the great things he did for others and his positive attitude it makes me proud to call him my friend!!! I know your heart is broken but I also know how incredibly proud of him you must be!!! He was quiet the legend!!!!

It's so funny to think that I never met you Ron but I just love you! I have been praying for you for so long and I'm happy that you are now with Jesus!

I will continue to pray for your wife and Momma! I look forward to seeing Janet back at church. My deepest of sympathies for you, Janet and Betty, both knowing that you are grieving Ron but he's in heaven with the Father!

I was so blessed to be good friends with Ron and to spend time with him at home and many away games.   He was such an inspiration to me and we always had great conversations about sports!!   Lakers vs.  Warriors!!   I was privileged to go to a home game with him a few years ago and sit in the front row.   That was my favorite game ever.  So many wonderful memories. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Raider Ron The General at a Bod Boys of BBQ tailgate in 2010 for a Dolphins at Raider game. Our friendship started immediately and grew every year. I appreciate all the times you called me to check up on me, all the prayers you said for us, whether the issue was big or small, you were always there for us, unconditionally. That meant the world to me.

When Ron found out we were having a baby, he asked me if I would give him the honor of becoming godfather to our baby. I of course told him yes! He was so honored, little did he know, I was honored myself. What better role model than Ron to guide and love our daughter. 

Ron will forever guide our baby from up above now. 

Janet, I wish I had the words to make you feel better, but know that Ron loved you with all his heart. He didn't have to say it, I saw it every time you guys were together.

Words aren't enough to describe the impact of the loss of Uncle Ronnie. I will never forget his personality. From the moment we met, he had a test for me (well because when you first meet Ron that tends to happen). When Ron let you in you knew that meant he knew you had a genuine spirit, and he was ALWAYS loyal to his friends. The Raider Nation will never forget all that he has done for us. Thank you for taking me under your wing as your niece and having the honor of being a part of your life.

I first met Ron Rickard a few years ago when I was new to the Raider Nation. I was shooting a poster for them and truly a newbie as a fan. One of the first things he said to me was to thank me for all that I've done for them. I was surprised and humbled that he said this to me as I've done so little compared to what he means to and how he's represented our fan base.
When my mother passed away he called me and we had a heartfelt conversation and he said if there was anything he could do to not hesitate to ask. Here was a man literally fighting for his life and he was strong for me and showed me his love.
The last few times we saw each other we would be at the Bad Boyz and he would sneak up behind me and kiss me on the cheek. I replied, "You better be damn good looking or you better be my wife!" He was a man that lived for Janet Rickard and fellow fans. It was always a complete joy and pleasure to see him and to know how dedicated he was. I will miss him at the BBQs, leading the group in happy birthdays and prayers and motivating us with his speeches and seeing him fight the good fight.
I've taken many images of Ron, but one of my favs was when he lit the torch. He represented all of us then and now everyone knew it. His fire burned very bright the last two years.
