Robert "Bob" Sullivan; 84 of Stanton, CA, born in San Francisco, CA on January 24, 1929 to Raymond and Loie Sullivan, died on July 4, 2013 at Mission Palm Rehab, in Westminster, CA. His growing up years were spent in the Boy Scouts having attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He loved Yosemite National Park where he enjoyed many happy summers camping with his family. For a while he was a lifeguard at the Yosemite Lodge Swimming Pool. He attended school in San Francisco graduating from Lincoln High School in January of 1947. He then attended college at U.C. Berkley, graduating with a B.S. Degree in Chemistry in 1951. Then he enlisted in the United States Air Force and came back to California after he was honorably discharged from Lowry AFB, Colorado. He was hired by Douglas Aircraft Company in Santa Monica, then moved to Huntington Beach and it soon became McDonnell Douglas. The last change was Boeing where he retired after 33 years. He was a great story teller and no matter what was going on, he always had a "that reminds me of a story" moment. He would tell it and keep the people laughing. He and his wife both enjoyed Dixieland Music and every Wednesday night they went to Curley's in Long Beach to listen to C.J. play the sousaphone and cornet and Katie played the banjo on Friday night they listened to a 6 piece Dixieland band. He was in the Westminster Lions Club for 33 years, having been President or Secretary over the years. The Westminster Community Theatre and was involved in the building of the theatre in the early 1970's. He is survived by his wife Mary of 50 years, daughter Mari Campbell, sister Lorraine Fredrickson, three grand daughters Michelle Wong, Elizabeth Wright and Melinda Hammond, two great grandsons, Conner Wong and Bryce Hammond, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Loie Sullivan and son Daniel Sullivan. A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 11 from 5-8 PM and a Funeral Service on Friday July 12 at 2:30 PM with a graveside to follow.
